With over 24 years of legal experience, Ranjan possesses in-depth expertise in India’s complex labour and employment laws. He provides counsel to clients on managing the legal aspects of human capital besides being a part of the Firm’s Anti-Corruption and White-Collar Offences practice group.
Ranjan’s litigation practice encompasses disputes involving contractual matters, labour and employment issues, and property disputes. He has been representing clients before courts and tribunals, including Labour Courts, Industrial Tribunals, Appellate Tribunals, several High Courts and Supreme Court.
Ranjan advises both domestic and international clients on a broad spectrum of employment and labour law matters, ensuring regulatory compliance. His expertise includes drafting and reviewing employment documentation, conducting employment audits, and advising on whistle-blower and misconduct investigations, company policies, employee handbooks, ESOP structuring, employee transfers, secondment agreements, expatriate arrangements, terminations, restrictive covenants, business closures, and sexual harassment complaints. He also provides guidance on employer-employee rights, union matters, unfair dismissal, unlawful lockouts, trade union negotiations, social security legislation, and employment issues arising from corporate restructurings, outsourcing, and workforce reductions. Ranjan predominantly represents corporates in employment-related matters and litigation, offering practical solutions for employee misconduct investigations and enquiries.
Besides labour & employment law and dispute resolution, Ranjan has experience in handling criminal law matters and Immigration related advisory.
Ranjan is also an active member of Firm’s thought leadership initiative on advocacy and knowledge sharing in labour & employment laws and dispute resolution. He has authored numerous articles published in several industry publications, print media and has been a frequent speaker on legal topics on public speaking events organized by leading industry bodies.
